This month, a slew of dignitaries are planning to attend a ground-breaking ceremony for a golf course at The Canyons. Heated negotiations between property owners near the ski area appear to have ended and Summit County Manager Bob Jasper said construction of the golf course could be underway next spring.
Jasper blamed the construction delay on legal disputes between different property owners near The Canyons.

"The Canyons is working hard with the RVMA, the county and other landowners toward an imminent announcement about the golf course. The Canyons, with its commitment to excellence, has made fantastic strides with three new lifts and many more advancements yet to come. Summit County has done a great job of getting players to the table and moving this issue forward so that the residents and visitors of Summit County will have a fantastic golf course to enjoy," Talisker spokeswoman Lisa Roskelley said in a prepared statement.
Jasper described Talisker officials as "tough negotiators."
"It has been fair," Jasper said about the talks. "They have been able to focus on the bigger picture When you're in a litigation mode it's sometimes difficult to step back."
